“It is with great regret that we must inform you that tomorrow evening’s Morrissey performance at The Orpheum has been cancelled due to illness in the touring party. The Orpheum team apologizes greatly for this disappointment and wishes those who are ill a speedy recovery. Refunds are available at point of purchase.”

BOSTON NEWS MUSIC
Morrissey has cancelled his Boston show at The Orpheum

DECEMBER 6, 2017 BY MICHAEL MAROTTA
Two nights after canceling his show in Philadelphia, Thursday’s Morrissey show at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre has now also been nixed.

The venue posted the news around 6 p.m. this evening, and the culprit is the same as Philly — a very vague “illness in the touring party.” The statement reads in full:

“It is with great regret that we must inform you that tomorrow evening’s Morrissey performance at The Orpheum has been cancelled due to illness in the touring party. The Orpheum team apologizes greatly for this disappointment and wishes those who are ill a speedy recovery. Refunds are available at point of purchase.”

Morrissey’s Boston stop was the final date on his tour in support of new album Low In High School. The news comes a few weeks after a show at an outdoor venue in California was cancelled by the former Smiths singer due to cold weather and a broken stage heater.

The cancellation habits of Morrissey are well documented by now, but Slicing Up Eyeballs has a breakdown of the latest: “Always a risky ticket buy, Morrissey’s tours have grown more trouble-plagued in recent years. This past spring, he canceled his third concert in San Antonio, Texas, in just six months after his voice went out. And that came after his U.S. tour in late 2016 was beset with cancellations and reschedulings after keyboard player Gustavo Manzur fell ill before a show in Boulder, Colo.”

And yes, we’ve used information and wording from previous Vanyaland posts because this shit just keeps happening.
