Hi Quiffaa,
The correct term, if including Eire, would be ''British Isles'', but it would be better to say ''UK / EIRE'' and that will cover Northern Ireland too (although officially, it is the UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on my passport!)

You could use the accepted acronym ROI. Only one letter more than UK. ;)

Accepted in ROI, granted. But how well recognised on mainland Europe? I wouldn't want to confuse our European cousins on this splendid site. B-)
